Christine Vallaure

I speak at global conference about how digital products are built today, from design–dev collaboration to how AI is changing who gets to build and ship, and what that means for work, power, and independence. My talks are hype-free, practical, and focused on ownership and craft.Recent stages include 2× Figma Config (San Francisco), 5× SmashingConf (New York, Antwerp, Amsterdam), Awwwards Conference, Beyond Tellerrand (Berlin), UX London, and many more.
I’m German, spent my formative years in the UK, and now call Madrid home. I present in English, German and Spanish.

Current Talks
I speak about UI design and how it meets code, about building digital products as a solo creator, and about the new era of independent builders shaped by AI. My talks stay clear, practical and lighthearted, grounded in curiosity and a real respect for craft. I focus on making complex ideas feel simple, giving people something they can use and a spark to explore further. Each talk gets thoughtfully adapted to the specific audience.
Understanding Layout Between UI Design and Code
Inspiring / Future of Work / Tech Culture / Change
Designers and developers often approach layout with different mental models, especially around grids, spacing, and responsiveness. That disconnect leads to friction and broken expectations.
In this talk, we look at layout from both sides: CSS Grid, Flexbox, and Container Queries from the code side, and Figma and Penpot from the design side. This is not about handoff perfection, but about building shared understanding and better outcomes through clearer collaboration.
The Rise of Independent Builders in a Post-Gatekeeper World
Inspiring / Future of Work / Tech Culture / Change
Today’s AI debate is loud, but the real shift is quieter and far more interesting. It’s not just what we build that’s changing, but who gets to build. AI, no-code tools and modern workflows now give individuals and small teams powers once reserved for big organisations.
In this talk, Christine cuts through the noise and shows how these tools actually work and why they open the door for a new wave of independent creators. With clarity, humour and a maker’s eye, she explains how AI reshapes the creative process and why owning the core is becoming a real advantage. Sharing her own story as a solo builder, as well as a look at a future where anyone can build. A reminder of the joy and autonomy that come with making things yourself.
From Idea to Your Own Shipped Product
Product Building / AI / Non-Technical / Hands-on
Building digital products no longer requires technical backgrounds, big teams, or long planning cycles. In this fast-paced, hands-on talk, Christine shows how non-technical people can go from idea to a shipped product. The focus is on actually building things and understanding where they’re useful in real life, from testing ideas quickly before overinvesting, to creating internal tools, to building and running profitable products as side- or full-time businesses.
Christine cuts through the AI noise and focuses on what actually works. Which tools genuinely help, and what you can realistically build on your own. A hype-free talk that opens minds and pushes a non-technical audience past curiosity and into actually making things.
