Designing a Life That Excites You
Current Talks
I speak about UI design and how it meets code, about building digital products as a solo creator, and about the new era of independent builders shaped by AI. My talks stay clear, practical and lighthearted, grounded in curiosity and a real respect for craft. I focus on making complex ideas feel simple, giving people something they can use and a spark to explore further. Each talk gets thoughtfully adapted to the specific audience.
Understanding Layout Between UI Design and Code
Technical / Figma / CSS / Design - Dev
Designers and developers often approach layout with different mental models, especially around grids, spacing, and responsiveness. That disconnect leads to friction and broken expectations.
In this talk, we look at layout from both sides: CSS Grid, Flexbox, and Container Queries from the code side, and Figma and Penpot from the design side. This is not about handoff perfection, but about building shared understanding and better outcomes through clearer collaboration.
The Rise of Independent Builders in a Post-Gatekeeper World
Inspiring / Future of Work / Tech Culture
Today’s AI debate is loud. The real shift is quieter and far more interesting. It’s not just what we build that’s changing, but who gets to build. AI and modern tools now give individuals and small teams powers once reserved for big organisations.
In this talk, Christine cuts through the noise and shows how these tools actually work and what they unlock. With clarity, humour, and a maker’s perspective, she explores how AI reshapes the creative process and why building independently is becoming a real advantage.
A grounded look at a future where more people get to build, and the autonomy that comes with it.
From Idea to Your Own Shipped Product
Product Building / AI / Non-Technical / Hands-on
Building digital products no longer requires a technical background, a big team, or long planning cycles. In this fast-paced, hands-on talk, Christine shows how non-technical people can go from idea to a shipped product.
The focus is practical: what you can actually build, from your own product to in-house tools or fast prototypes, and how this new way of working changes not just how we make things, but how we think about making them. It’s as much a mental shift as it is a technical one, for individuals and teams alike.
A practical session that moves people from watching to making.
I complement my speaking with live and online workshops on Figma and building with AI.
